Jeanne Beusser Jeanne is the mother of two special needs children, one diagnosed as apraxic,
and one diagnosed as PDD-NOS, a high functioning form of autism. She is President
of the Apraxia
Network of Bergen County, Outreach Coordinator for the CHERAB Foundation and an Affliate of Learning Disabilities Association of America.
Jeanne is also a Facilatator and Librarian of "The Compassionate Friends".
Lisa F. Geng Lisa is is the mother of two "late talkers" and the founder and president of
Children's Apraxia Network, a non-profit organization for children with neurologically
based language disorders. More recently, she started the
CHERAB Foundation, a partnership of parents and professionals working together
to provide support and information for anyone who cares for children with speech
challenges/apraxia. Lisa is co-author
of the book, The Late Talker: What To Do If
Your Child Isn't Talking Yet, St. Martin's Press May 2003. She is one of the founders and developers of Speechville. Lisa also is a co
chair for Habitat for Humanity's "Our Home to Yours"
Rhonda Jacobson
Rhonda is co-founder and past president of ECHO,
Canada's apraxia support group. Rhonda is also active in the OAFCCD,
a group for families of children with communication disorders. She is one of
the founders and developers of Speechville.
Gina Mikel
Gina is the mother of a child with apraxia of speech, and is one of the founders
and developers of Speechville. Gina co-founded the Apraxia-Kids website. She
is also an illustrator. Her work can be viewed online at her web site, ScientificIllustrator.com.
Tricia Morin
Tricia is the parent of a child diagnosed with mild high-functioning autism
and co-founder of SPEAK,
St. Louis Parent Extension for Apraxic Kids. The SPEAK group helps families
of children with speech, language and communication difficulties. Tricia works
as a federal employee on an
Advisory Panel on Special Education and Early Intervention to the Department
of Defense school system in the United States, Asia, Europe and US territories. She is a board member of Equus
Heals, Animal Assisted Therapy, a non-profit organization in the Sandhills
of North Carolina. Tricia participates locally as a School Board memeber for
Fort Bragg
Schools in North Carolina.
Cindy Mustafa
Cindy is the mother of two sons who were late-talkers. She is the Coordinator
of the CHERAB Internet resources and a long-time
contributor to the Apraxia-Kids listserv, and more recently to the CHERAB
online forum. She is one of the founders and developers of Speechville.
Speechville Express
is a resource for families, educators, and medical professionals, offering
information about language development in children, helping those who
care for toddlers and young children who are late talkers, and connecting
you with others who have been down this road. Language disorders and
communication impairments included are apraxia, stuttering, pervasive
developmental disorder, dysarthria, and aphasia, among others.
