    About the Speaker: Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson

A Three Part Treatment Plan for Oral-Motor Therapy

    Diagnosis and Program Planning

    Description from Innovative Therapists International:

"Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson has more than 30 years of experience as a speech and language pathologist. She has spent the last 20 years perfecting her unique brand of oral-motor speech therapy with a degree of success, even where traditional speech therapy has failed. Now she is devoted to teaching others the methods so they can help their clients with difficult-to remedy articulation problems... She is the author of Oral-Motor Exercises for Speech Clarity and The HOMEWORK Book... Sara founded Innovative Therapists International in 1995 as a speakers bureau and source for oral-motor therapy tools. ...She also has been a featured speaker for ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) state and national conventions.

"Sara's original class is designed as an introduction to oral-motor/feeding/speech diagnosis and treatment. This class will familiarize participants with the normal hierarchies of oral-motor skills including jaw, lip and tongue movements. An introduction to feeding therapy as a component of improving articulation in all clients will be presented. This class includes at least 40 "fun-to-use" exercises to improve phonation, resonation
    and articulation.

    Learning Outcomes include:
    • Diagnosis oral-motor/feeding/speech problems based on muscle systems.

    • List hierarchies for oral dissociation (jaw-lips-tongue).

    • Plan a program of therapeutic intervention to address physiological and motor-based articulation disorders.

    • Be able to apply at least 10 new therapy techniques.

    • Learn to use Oral-Motor techniques to improve individual speech production.
